SNACKING IN BAR
SNACKING IN BAR
It’s time to have that little beer, and to keep up… pub food! The snacks from Rio’s bars are so famous that they have even won a competition specialized in the subject, which has a vast list of well-prepared snacks.
Apart from this list, there are the hors concours, the traditional snacks most loved by the people of Rio de Janeiro. Some of them are: bolinho de bacalhau (fried dumplings made of cod, potatoes, seasoning and olive oil, an heirloom from Portugal), bolinho de aipim (fried dough made from cassava, filled with flavors such as meat or cheese), pastel (crispy puff pastry filled with the most creative flavors you can imagine!), lula à doré (breaded and fried squid rings, always accompanied by a delicious sauce) and feijão amigo (well-seasoned whipped bean broth, usually accompanied by fried garlic).
It’s worth a try!
