The VLT (Light Rail Vehicle) is one of the best options to get around the city center, with two lines that pass through several interesting points, besides being silent and for not emitting pollutants in terms of emission of gases.
VLT LINES
* Line 1 runs from Santos Dumont SDU Airport to Novo Rio Bus Station (Praia Formosa Station).
* Line 2 goes from Praça XV (Barcas Station) also to Novo Rio Bus Station (Praia Formosa Station).
They cross points like AquaRio, Olympic Boulevard and Museum of Tomorrow.
For those who arrive or go to Santos Dumont Airport, just take the VLT at the airport and get off at Cinelândia Station and then take the Metro where you want to go. The same applies to the Bus Station: just take the VLT from then get off at the stop where there is metro station. In the case of Line 2, go down at the CENTRAL STATION of the VLT. In the case of Line 1, get off at carioca station or Cinelândia vlt. Both Lines 1 and 2 pass through the Bus Station, and both can lead to
Subway.
It is not all stations that have a self-service station for the purchase of tickets. It is recommended, for this transport, the use of
RioCard.
