GETTING TO KNOW THE BRT OF RIO DE JANEIRO
In the West Zone, the option of comcomotion on public transport is The Rapid Transport by Bus (Bus Rapid Transit, or rather BRT of Rio de Janeiro). It is an articulated transport that travels in exclusive corridor and, therefore, is a faster travel alternative for passengers.
Currently, he travels on three lines: Transoeste, Transcarioca and Transolímpica.
Transoeste is composed of the Terminals Alvorada, Santa Cruz, Campo Grande and Jardim Oceânico, connecting Barra da Tijuca, Santa Cruz, Campo Grande, Paciência and Lote Zero, where brt integrates with line 4 of the subway, in the Jardim Oceânico terminal.
Transcarioca connects the Alvorada terminal in Barra da Tijuca to Tom Jobim International Airport, on Ilha do Governador. At Madureira Manaceia and Olaria stations, brt is integrated with Supervia train and in Vicente de Carvalho integrates with metro line 2.
Transolímpica has 18 stations and three terminals (Recreio, Centro Olímpico and Sulacap).
